Abstract: ABSTRACT TITLE: DIGITALLY-ASSISTED LINEAR AMPLIFIER FOR ENVELOPE TRACKING HYBRID SUPPLY MODULATOR The present invention provides a digitally-assisted linear amplifier (DA-LA) comprising a linear amplifier (LA) such as class AB amplifier for using in hybrid supply modulator and a digital assistant device. The LA operates in a unity-gain feedback configuration to achieve a wide loop bandwidth, resulting in a fast transient response, said linear amplifier includes power transistors in sourcing and sinking path for high current driving capability at output. The digital assistant device provides an auxiliary path at the output and delivers auxiliary current to the load which limits maximum current in the linear amplifier’s output stage that reduces power dissipation in the linear amplifier including enabling reduction of size of the power transistor to reduce gate capacitance and thereby enhancing the bandwidth of the linear amplifier and its slew rate thereby improving transient response of the linear amplifier.
