MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641113255 A) filed by Saveetha Engineering College on September 22, 2026, for Digital Twin Integrated Ai-Ar/Vr System For Intelligent Industrial Equipment Fault Detection And Rep.

Inventors include Dr. G. Karthika; and Dr J Anish Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an intelligent industrial equipment maintenance system integrating Artificial Intelligence (Al), Digital Twin, Internet of Things (IoT), Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), and robotic automation. The system comprises sensors, a programmable logic controller, an AI-based anomaly detection module, a Digital Twin, an AR/VR interface, a communication module, and a robotic actuator. Realtime operating parameters acquired from industrial equipment are processed and analyzed by the Al module to identify abnormal operating conditions or potential faults. The detected fault is represented and highlighted in the Digital Twin for immersive visualization through the AR/VR interface. An operator can initiate a maintenance operation through gestures or controller commands, which are interpreted and transmitted to the robotic actuator for physical execution. The robotic actuator performs the required maintenance operation, while updated sensor data are subsequently used to verify the repair and synchronize the Digital Twin with the physical equipment. The system enables remote, predictive and intelligent maintenance, reduces human intervention and equipment downtime, and provides a closed-loop mechanism for fault detection, repair execution and maintenance verification.
