Abstract: ABSTRACT DIGITAL TWIN FRAMEWORK FOR AUTONOMOUS VEHICLE LANE-CHANGE The present invention discloses a digital twin-assisted framework for lane-change decision-making and motion planning in Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs). The system (100) comprises a processor (102), memory unit (104), communication module (106), sensor interface module (108), digital twin module (110), reinforcement learning engine (112), game-theoretical engine (114), trajectory planning module (116), vehicle control module (118), and user interface module (120), processing data from (108) into a traffic state within (110). The reinforcement learning engine (112) employs a Soft Actor-Critic algorithm integrated with a Stackelberg model within the game- theoretical engine (114) to determine lane-change strategies through leader-follower modelling and cost minimization. The trajectory planning module (116) generates safety-optimized trajectories executed by the vehicle control module (118), while the user interface module (120) displays decisions, predicted trajectories, and risk assessments. The digital twin module (110) supports simulation and model refinement without road testing, improving decision-making, collision avoidance, and traffic efficiency. Fig. 1
