MUMBAI, India, June 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641069435 A) filed by Srm University-Ap on June 03, 2026, for Digital Twin-Based System And Method For Multi-Bank Battery Monitoring, State Estimation And Fault Prediction.

Inventors include Dr. Sujith Kalluri; Vemala Likhitha; Jagadeeswara Chandra Bose. Kamarajugadda; and Sayyad Sameer.

The application for the patent was published on June 12, 2026, under issue no. 24/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a digital twin-based system and method for multi-bank battery monitoring, state estimation, and fault prediction. The system comprises a digital twin subsystem, state estimation subsystem, optimization subsystem, federated learning subsystem, anomaly detection subsystem, and cloud communication platform. Real-time battery measurements are synchronized with a virtual battery model to enable continuous monitoring and adaptive state estimation. The state estimation subsystem employs Li-Mamba, Battery GPT, Adaptive Extended Kalman Filtering (AEKF), and TDSPIN models, while a cooperative decision framework generates optimized battery state predictions. A Whale Optimization Algorithm compensates for battery ageing and changing operating conditions, and a federated learning framework enables continuous model adaptation. The system further detects thermal anomalies and fault conditions and transmits diagnostic information to cloud-based monitoring platforms for remote visualization and predictive maintenance. The invention provides adaptive battery intelligence, confidence-aware prediction, real-time digital twin synchronization, and scalable monitoring of multiple battery banks.
