MUMBAI, India, July 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611050221 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology, Kurukshetra on April 20, 2026, for Digital Twin-Based Smart Window System For Health-Aware Indoor Environmental Monitoring.

Inventors include Kumar, Vijay; Dr. Bhatia, Munish; and Dr. Sood, Sandeep Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a smart window control system (200). The system (200) includes one or more sensors (104) configured to acquire real-time sensor data comprising indoor and outdoor parameters. The system (200) further includes a digital twin unit (108) communicatively coupled to the sensors (104) and configured to generate indoor environmental states for a plurality of potential window positions based on the real-time sensor data. The digital twin unit (108) is further configured to determine an optimal window position based on the indoor environmental states and predefined safety criterion and generate a control signal (310) indicative of the optimal window position. Additionally, the digital twin unit (108) is configured to actuate windows (102) within the environment (100) to the optimal window position responsive to the control signal (310). Additionally, the system (200) includes a sound unit (114) configured to generate an audible alert to achieve occupant awareness upon window actuation.
