Abstract: Digital Twin Based Smart Irrigation System with Fault-Tolerant Decision Support and Explainable AI ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION The present invention proposes an ontology-driven Semantic Digital Twin based fault-tolerant precision irrigation system for agricultural water management. Distributed sensing nodes acquire soil moisture, temperature, humidity and rainfall data from multiple field zones through Simulation Mode or Hardware Mode. The observations undergo range validation, missing-value detection and consistency checking before Isolation Forest based anomaly detection determines sensor-health status. Reliable observations are processed directly, whereas faulty or unavailable sensor values trigger fallback estimation using historical sensor and irrigation records with forecast weather information. A Semantic Digital Twin maintains synchronized representations of field zones, sensors, soil conditions, environmental conditions and irrigation states. OWL ontology models agricultural knowledge, while SWRL reasoning applies semantic irrigation rules to derive irrigation requirements. An explainable module provides justification, and an ESP32-based controller operates pumps and solenoid valves. Total Number of Words in Abstract: 130
