Abstract: ABSTRACT DIGITAL TWIN BASED ENERGY OPTIMIZATION OF VRM SYSTEM IN A CEMENT MANUFACTURING PROCESS 10 The present disclosure relates to a process for optimizing energy consumption in a Vertical Roller Mill (VRM) used in a cement manufacturing process. The invention utilizes a digital twin configured to simulate the VRM system based on real-time operational data and quality targets received from a Quality Management System (QMS). A reinforcement learning (RL) agent is trained using environment models 15 derived from the digital twin to learn adaptive control strategies for adjusting operational parameters, including feed rate, grinding pressure, separator speed, hot gas flow, and fan speed. The RL-based control dynamically responds to variations in material moisture, fineness, vibration, and power consumption to achieve required production levels with reduced energy usage. The process further enables continuous 20 monitoring, early fault detection, and improved operational stability. The invention is described with reference to Figure 3, which illustrates an exemplary digital twin and reinforcement learning-based architecture for energy-efficient VRM operation. [
