MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641100069 A) filed by Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation on August 19, 2026, for Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange (dhke) Technique To Ensure Data Integrity For Data Offloading In Heterogeneous Networks.

Inventors include Ramesh Mandali; and Nilu Singh.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a secure data offloading technique for heterogeneous communication networks comprising LTE and Wi-Fi networks. The technique employs a Software Defined Networking (SDN) controller for coordinating authentication and key- management operations of User Equipment (UE) and Wi-Fi Access Points (APs). The SDN controller facilitates mutual authentication of the UE and AP and supports generation of pseudo-identities and allocation of key pairs during registration. Following authentication, a Diffie-Hellman Key Exchange (DHKE) mechanism establishes key material for secure communication. ZUC encryption is employed to protect data transmitted through the Wi-Fi offloading path. The technique reduces authentication and computational overhead at LTE base stations while providing secure, efficient and scalable data offloading with reduced latency and improved throughput in heterogeneous networks.
