The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: A diagnostic system (128) for detecting a fault in an Electric Vehicle (EV) (110) is disclosed. The system (128) includes a contact microphone (210) integrated with a charging handle (222) of the EV (110), a vibration module (212), and a controller (214). The vibration module (212) initiates a set of predefined vibration patterns in the EV (110) for generating corresponding mechanical vibrations from the EV (110) in response to the initiation. The controller (214) is configured to receive signals, corresponding to the generated mechanical vibrations, from the contact microphone (210) in the charging handle. Further, the controller (214) is configured to compare the received signals with pre-defined threshold values which are pre-configured in the controller (214). Further, the controller (214) is configured to detect a fault in the EV (110) when one or more of the received signals associated with the generated mechanical vibrations is beyond the predefined threshold values.
