Abstract: The present invention discloses a bioactive spray formulation designated as C-BioHerb-Heal developed for topical diabetic wound repair. The formulation comprises an aqueous extract of Cayratia trifolia leaves, incorporated into a chitosan-alginate polymeric network along with pharmaceutically acceptable stabilizing agents. The electrostatic interaction between chitosan and alginate results in formation of a structured polyelectrolyte complex that facilitates sustained release of plant-derived bioactive compounds. The developed formulation demonstrates antioxidant activity, antimicrobial efficacy against wound-associated pathogens, and cytocompatibility with mammalian skin cell lines under in vitro conditions. The spray delivery system enables unifonn surface coverage and supports maintenance of a moist wound environment. The invention provides a stable, scalable, and non-invasive therapeutic platfom1 suitable for diabetic wound repair.
