Abstract: ABSTRACT DEVICE FOR ALERTING UNSAFE STATE OF LITHIUM POLYMER BATTERY The present invention describes a device that can be retrofitted over Lithium polymer batteries and can detect abnormal and unsafe states like swelling of battery, battery explosion, high temperature, and fluid contact and alert the host device through Bluetooth and wired RS485 port. The device has a sensor band where a force sensitive resistor is placed in the center and a thin enameled wire is wrapped around the band. This band is attached to the battery by wrapping around the middle of battery. The band is very thin and allows stacking of batteries normally. A PCB along with a small button cell battery and temperature sensor is attached to the bottom of the lithium polymer battery.
