MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611104388 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on August 25, 2026, for Device And Process For Rehabilitation Of Digit Joints.

Inventor includes Disha Singh.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: A portable modular device (100) for rehabilitation of finger and toe joints is disclosed. The device comprises an actuation assembly (101) having a motor, transmission mechanism, and actuator output linkage configured to generate cyclic reciprocating motion for passive flexion and extension of a finger or toe joint. A removable digit- engagement module (102) transmits the motion to a selected digit, while a control unit (103) regulates therapy parameters including range of motion, cycle frequency, session duration, and safety limits. A safety monitoring system (106) comprising a force sensing element detects excessive resistance and automatically interrupts operation when a programmable threshold is exceeded. The device further includes a power supply module (104), a user interface (105), and an adjustable orthotic frame assembly (107) having interchangeable hand-mount and foot-mount adapters. The invention enables portable, configurable, and safe continuous passive motion therapy for both finger and toe rehabilitation using a common device platform.
