MUMBAI, India, June 19 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617058152 A) filed by Public Joint Stock Company Sibur Holding on May 07, 2026, for Device And Method For Separating A Mixture Containing Thermolabile Substances.

Inventor includes Petrov, Aleksandr Evgenevich.

The application for the patent was published on June 05, 2026, under issue no. 23/2026.

Abstract: Proposed are a device and a method based thereon for continuously purifying high-boiling thermolabile compounds of more highly volatile impurities by the selective continuous distillation of a medium fed into the device. The device is a column apparatus comprising at least three sections arranged successively one above another: a mass exchange section, an evaporation section and a cooling section, wherein the evaporation section is a vertically oriented falling film evaporator with a fixed residence time for thermolabile mixtures in the evaporation zone. In a specific embodiment, examples of high-boiling thermolabile media are mixtures of aromatic polyamines, for example mixtures of methylene diphenyl diamine (MDA) and higher homologues thereof, as well as mixtures of aromatic polyisocyanates, for example mixtures of methylene diphenyl diisocyanate (MDI) and higher homologues thereof. The method based on the device makes it possible to obtain the above-mentioned media in a purified form in which the residual content of more volatile solvents such as, for example, aniline or chlorinated benzene is not more than a few dozen ppm and the residence time of the medium undergoing evaporation in the evaporator region is not more than 100 seconds, which does not cause significant changes in the colour value of a thermolabile medium.
