MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641073857 A) filed by Sr University on June 15, 2026, for Device And Method For Selective Adsorption For Catalytic Detoxification Of Toxic Gases.

Inventors include Dr. Sarath Chandra Veerla; Dr. Babu Bathula; and Thirumala Rao Gurugubelli.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: DEVICE AND METHOD FOR SELECTIVE ADSORPTION FOR CATALYTIC DETOXIFICATION OF TOXIC GASES ABSTRACT A device (100) for selective adsorption for catalytic detoxification of toxic gases is disclosed. The device (100) comprising a nano-bio composite material (102) to receive and interact with a gas stream; a biopolymer matrix (104) to provide biodegradability and environmental compatibility; a nano catalyst (106) to catalytically convert the adsorbed toxic gases into detoxified products; a selective interaction region (108) to customize molecular interaction characteristics for selective adsorption of the predetermined toxic gases; an adsorption region (110) to retain the toxic gases and perform catalytic conversion of the retained toxic gases into environmentally degradable products; and a regeneration structure (112) to restore adsorption for catalytic activity under low-energy regeneration conditions. The device (100) provides selective adsorption, catalytic detoxification, biodegradability, regeneration capability, and environmentally compatible toxic gas purification. The device (100) further supports sustainable gas treatment operations with reduced external energy dependency and improved long-term operational efficiency.
