Abstract: The invention relates to a device (1) for aligning and accumulating stacks (2, 2a, 2b) of value documents. The device (1) comprises an alignment area (10) for aligning value documents, a collecting area (20), a first side support (11), a second side support (12) and a retaining unit (14). The first side support (11) can move from the alignment area (10) 10 into the collecting area (20). The first side support (11) and the second side support (12) clamp a first stack (2a) of value documents therebetween during a movement (5a) of the first stack (2a) into the collecting area (20). The retaining unit (14) retains the first stack (2a) moved into the collecting area (20) during a movement (5b) of the first side support (11) back into the alignment area (10). The invention also relates to an arrangement (100) 15 as well as methods for aligning and accumulating stacks (2, 2a, 2b) of value documents.
