MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411102609 A) filed by Lovely Professional University on December 24, 2024, for Development Of Innovative Guargum Nano Formulation Of Syringic Acid For Diabetic Wound Healing.

Abstract: The present invention discloses the development of innovative guargum nano formulation of syringic acid for diabetic wound healing. The method comprises various steps such as a) preparation of the oil phase (110), b) oil phase emulsification (120), c) crosslinking and stabilization (130) and d) separation of nanoparticles (140). Conventional treatments often fall short in addressing the complex challenges of diabetic wounds, including poor blood circulation, persistent inflammation, and diminished cellular proliferation. This invention discloses a novel drug delivery approach by encapsulating syringic acid—a compound known for its potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties within a guar gum-based nanoparticle system. The above mentioned invention evaluates the therapeutic potential of the syringic acid loaded guar gum nanoparticles in promoting cell migration and wound closure with minimal cytotoxicity.
