MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641112523 A) filed by Mr. S Veerraju; and Dr. A. V. Paramkusam on September 19, 2026, for Development Of Efficient & Robust Digital Image Watermarking Algorithms With Enhanced Imperceptibility.
Inventors include Mr. S Veerraju; and Dr. A. V. Paramkusam.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: A digital image watermarking system and method is disclosed for achieving enhanced imperceptibility and robustness against common image-processing attacks. The method receives a host image and watermark, performs preprocessing and hybrid transform-domain processing using combinations of discrete wavelet transform (DWT), discrete cosine transforms (DCT) and singular value decomposition (SVD), and determines local perceptual characteristics including entropy, texture and edge information. An adaptive embedding-strength map is generated according to image content, and an optimization procedure such as Particle Swarm Optimization, Genetic Algorithm, Differential Evolution or hybrid PSO-DE is used to tune embedding parameters. The watermark is embedded into selected transform coefficients and the watermarked image is reconstructed. At extraction, corresponding transform and decision operations recover the watermark. The framework is designed to improve the trade-off between perceptual quality and robustness and may be evaluated using PSNR, SSIM, NC/NCC and BER under compression, noise, filtering and geometric attacks.
