MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631001437 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Kharagpur on January 06, 2026, for Development Of Boron Nitride-Reinforced Natural Rubber Composites For High-Frequency Vibration Isolation.

Inventors include Roumita Hore; and Dr. Santanu Chattopadhyay.

The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: Abstract Title: Development of boron nitride-reinforced natural rubber composites for high-frequency vibration isolation Boron nitride-reinforced natural rubber/rubber composites are provided based on in-depth characterization of boron nitride-reinforced natural rubber composites for use as a vibration isolator with high-frequency attenuation exceeding 200 Hz. The novelty lies in the product composition. The composition includes Natural Rubber (100 phr), Boron Nitride (5-30 phr), Sulfur (1.5- 2.5 phr), CBS (0.5-1.0 phr), TMTD (0.4-1.0 phr), Zinc Oxide (3-5 phr)-Stearic Acid (1-3 phr), 6-PPD (1-2 phr), Wax (1-2 phr), TMQ (0.5-1 phr), Si69 (10% of filler)- DPG (2% of filler), Aflux 42 (2-4 phr), DHTS (1-2 phr). The invention provides for the development and in-depth characterization of boron nitride-reinforced natural rubber composites for use as a vibration isolator with high-frequency attenuation beyond 200 Hz. The composites exhibited rebound resilience and dynamic recovery up to 75% and 85%, respectively.
