Abstract: Development of Bio adsorbent from calyx and pedicel of dried Chilli. The present invention relates to a bioadsorbent material prepared from the waste stalks (calyx and pedicel) of dried red chilli (Capsicum annuum, family Solanaceae) for the purpose of defluoridation of groundwater. The invention provides a low-cost, environmentally friendly, and efficient method for removing excess fluoride from drinking water, addressing the limitations of conventional defluoridation techniques that are expensive, complex, or generate secondary pollutants. The bioadsorbent is prepared by processing the dried chilli stalks into a powdered form, followed by activation through suitable physical or chemical treatments to enhance fluoride adsorption capacity. This approach also offers an effective way to utilize agricultural waste, reducing environmental burden while providing a sustainable water treatment solution. wherein the material provides an environmentally friendly, low-cost, and sustainable solution for fluoride removal while utilizing agricultural waste.
