MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621058538 A) filed by Dr. D. Y. Patil Institute Of Technology, Pimpri, Pune on May 08, 2026, for Development Of Automatic Hand Blender With Intelligent Stop/Start Function Based On Optimum Mixing Detection.

Inventor includes Mr. Sunilkumar Harsur.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the development of an automatic hand blender system with an intelligent stop/start function based on optimum mixing detection, designed to improve blending efficiency, consistency, safety, and energy utilization during food preparation and liquid mixing operations. The invention integrates an advanced sensing and control mechanism within a portable hand blender to automatically monitor and regulate the blending process without requiring continuous manual supervision. The system comprises a motor-driven blending unit, one or more sensing modules, a microcontroller-based control unit, a power management circuit, and a user interface module for selecting blending modes and consistency levels. The sensing modules are configured to continuously detect and analyze mixing parameters such as motor torque, rotational resistance, viscosity variation, vibration pattern, temperature, current consumption, acoustic signals, and blending duration during operation. The collected real-time data is transmitted to the microcontroller, where embedded algorithms process the signals to determine the state and consistency of the mixture. The intelligent control unit compares the sensed values with predefined threshold parameters corresponding to optimum blending conditions stored in the system memory. When the desired consistency or optimum mixing state is achieved, the controller automatically stops the motor operation, thereby preventing over-mixing, overheating, unnecessary energy consumption, nutrient degradation, and damage to the blended material. The invention further provides an intelligent restart functionality enabling the blender to resume operation automatically or manually if the user adds additional ingredients or selects a different blending requirement. The system may also include adaptive learning capability for storing user-preferred consistency profiles and adjusting operation parameters accordingly. Safety features such as overload protection, dry-run prevention, child safety lock, and thermal protection are additionally incorporated to enhance operational reliability and user safety. The proposed automatic hand blender ensures uniform and repeatable mixing quality for various food products including juices, soups, batters, sauces, creams, and purees. The invention significantly reduces user effort, minimizes processing time, improves energy efficiency, and enhances convenience in domestic as well as commercial kitchen applications. The compact, intelligent, and automated design makes the invention suitable for modern smart kitchen appliances and advanced food-processing systems.
