Abstract: The AI-Based Olfactory Feedback System This invention introduces an innovative AI-inspired olfactory feedback system that uses colour recognition to support and enhance multisensory learning experiences in educational settings. By interpreting visual cues—specifically colours displayed on a television or digital screen—the device establishes a direct connection between visual stimuli and smell-based responses. This method allows children and learners to simultaneously engage their visual and olfactory senses, which significantly improves comprehension, memory retention, and sensory association. As a result, the system provides a unique approach to learning that traditional visual-only or audio-visual teaching tools fail to achieve. The core functionality of the system lies in its ability to detect specific colours shown on a TV screen using an integrated colour sensor. Once a colour is recognized, the data is processed by a microcontroller, which determines the corresponding fragrance to be released. A servo-controlled fragrance wheel, containing multiple aroma cartridges, rotates to align the selected aroma with a single outlet. A mini fan then disperses the fragrance into the environment. This seamless combination of colour sensing, microcontroller logic, and automated aroma actuation enables real-time, accurate visual-to-olfactory mapping, allowing students to experience scents that directly correspond to the images or lessons displayed on the screen. This real-time sensory linkage makes the invention particularly valuable for early childhood education, special needs learning, sensory therapy, and aroma recognition training. Children who struggle with traditional learning methods benefit greatly from scent-enhanced lessons, as olfactory stimulation is strongly connected to emotional learning and long-term memory. Additionally, the system is intentionally designed to be low-cost, modular, and scalable, making it accessible to schools, therapy centres, and home-learning environments. Its dynamic, automated operation offers a modern pedagogical tool that integrates visual media with intelligent scent delivery—something currently missing in conventional educational technology.
