The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a tethered modular submersible remotely operated vehicle (ROV) having a pressure hull, a distributed ballast control system, a propulsion subsystem, a fin-based maneuvering subsystem, and a sensor-based control architecture. The ballast control system includes four piston-actuated ballast chambers arranged as a forward pair and a rear pair, the chambers being selectively driven to intake or expel water for variable buoyancy and longitudinal trim control. A rear-mounted motor and propeller provide forward thrust, while a dorsal fin and two lateral fins provide directional maneuvering. An external pressure sensor, an internal pressure sensor, and at least one inertial measurement unit provide closed-loop feedback to a controller that regulates depth, orientation, and operational safety. The ROV is configured to achieve vertical motion substantially through adaptive ballast adjustment rather than continuous vertical thruster operation, thereby improving energy efficiency and underwater stability.
