Abstract: DEVELOPMENT OF A HERBAL CARBOPOL 934 HYDROGEL PATCH FOR Heloma miliare AND CRACKED HEEL MANAGEMENT ABSTRACT The seed corns, which are scientifically known as Heloma miliare, are a type of callosity. It is a dermatological problem faced by the people in daily life. It occurs mostly in the foot due to the pressure, friction, dryness, and hyperkeratosis. They feel discomfort, while walking. If they press deeper, they can become tender or cause sharp, localized pain when weight or pressure is applied on foot. The aim of the present invention is to develop a plant-based herbal hydrogel patch for the effective treatment of Heloma miliare (seed corns) and cracked heels by incorporating bioactive extracts of Jasminum sambac leaves, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis petals, and Curcuma longa rhizomes into a Carbopol 934. Bioactive herbal extracts, which are derived from medicinal plants, are rich in phenolic compounds, especially salicylic acid, flavonoids, curcuminoids, and other secondary metabolites that perform keratolytic activity and smoothing processes, and include anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and anti- oxidant properties highly suitable to control and cure of Heloma miliare and cracked heels. When compared to the conventional and synthetic methods, naturally derived herbal formulations provide superior biocompatibility, minimal side effects, and enhanced therapeutic effects. This invention focuses on the eco-friendly extraction and optimization of bioactive compounds from Jasminum sambac (Oleaceae), Hibiscus rosa sinensis (Malvaceae), & Curcuma longa (Zingiberaceae) using the suitable extraction techniques. The optimized herbal extracts are combined to obtain a synergistic composition capable of softening hyperkeratotic tissue, reducing inflammation, preventing microbial infection, and promoting skin regeneration. Keywords Heloma miliare, Jasminum sambac, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis, Curcuma longa, Hydrogel patch, Keratolysis, Salicylic acid.
