MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621071421 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Technology Bombay on June 09, 2026, for Deterministic Processing And Multi-Dimensional Safety Governance System And Method For Cyber- Physical Systems.
Inventors include Kumar, Nanduri Sudheer; and Delhi, Venkata S..
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: Embodiments provide a cyber-physical governance system including a governance kernel (200) that receives sensor input from sensors (101), maintains physical state (103), governs output from a pluggable cognitive module (300), and gates actuator output to actuators (102). A driver (1601) registers with a machine-readable processing contract (1602), and a kernel validator (1603) validates the processing contract before a contract-parameterized processing pipeline (1604) exposes data downstream. A snapshot component (209) stores cognitive snapshots for deterministic replay without re-inference and without actuation. A safety engine evaluates a safety envelope (704) including boundary, composite, expression, and cross-entity conditions. A causal tracker records causal lineage in a causal chain directed acyclic graph (901), a temporal engine enforces temporal constraints (904), and an effect-verification engine verifies expected physical effects against observed state changes while confidence propagation controls routing.
