The application for the patent was published on July 10, 2026, under issue no. 28/2026.
Abstract: Example embodiments herein disclose a user equipment (UE) for wireless communication. The UE is caused to reselect in idle or inactive mode to camp on, from a first cell to a second cell. The UE is caused to obtain a measurement configuration to be applied in the second cell. The 10 measurement configuration includes one of: a user equipment (UE)-specific measurement configuration; or a common measurement configuration. The UE is caused to apply the measurement configuration, wherein after doing so, the UE performs one of: carrier measurements, without reading a system information block (SIB) of the second cell, when the reselecting to camp on the second cell is based on the UE-specific measurement configuration; or carrier 15 measurements, after reading one or more SIBs of the second cell, when the reselecting to camp on the second cell is based on the common measurement configuration.
