Abstract: Apparatus and methods are provided for use with a biological sample from a subject. A substrate includes a plurality of biosynthetic molecules disposed on the substrate, the biosynthetic molecules configured to undergo a biochemical interaction in the presence of a given biomarker within the biological sample. A converter is configured to generate electrical energy in response to the biochemical interaction occurring, and a wireless transmitter is configured to transmit a signal that is indicative of the electrical energy that is generated. Other applications are also described.
