MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621089901 A) filed by Gdqlabs Private Limited on July 23, 2026, for Detection Of Biomagnetic Signals Using A Single Beam Atomic Gradiometer In Unshielded Environments.

Inventors include Dr. Pranab Dutta; Dr. Kushal Patel; and Dr. Korak Biswas.

The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure disclose a system for detection of bio-magnetic signals using a single beam atomic gradiometer in unshielded environments and a process for determination of magnetic gradient. The present invention eliminates the requirement of magnetically shielded environment and overcomes the limitations of optical complexity, light-induced frequency shifts, unwanted noise, instability and low sensitivity prevalent in prior art. The present invention relates to detection of bio-magnetic signals using a single-beam atomic gradiometer by employing a differential measurement approach. The gradiometer utilises a single optical beam to perform both spin-polarization (pumping) and signal detection (probing), achieved by integration of a Time-Multiplexed Frequency Tuning Strategy with an Adaptive Duty-Cycle Coherent Pumping method. The primary application of the present invention may be non-invasive, wearable devices to detect bio-magnetic signals of human heart and brain for medical diagnostics.
