MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411103762 A) filed by Birla Institute Of Technology & Science Bits, Pilani on December 27, 2024, for Design And Synthesis Of Novel Tetracyanoquinodimethane (tcnq) Derivatives To Utilise In A Point Of Source Testing (post) Multimode Optical Detection System.
Inventors include Jayanty, Subbalakshmi; Mohitkar, Anuradha; Goel, Sanket; and Pavar, Saikumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: The present invention provides design and synthesis of novel Tetracyanoquinodimethane derivatives. The present invention also provides application of novel TCNQ derivatives for the first time, through the indirect CRET and fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) in PoST system i.e. a multimode optical PoST detection system for onsite CRET phenomenon to excite novel fluorescence molecules [1]-[5] within the device level circumventing the utilization of costly and very expensive bulk instruments like spectrophotometer and spectrofluorometer.
