Abstract: ABSTRACT: Title: Design and Performance Analysis of Hybrid Precoding with AF/DF Relaying in Massive MIMO Systems The present invention discloses a system and method for joint hybrid digital-analog precoding design and performance optimization with adaptive Amplify-and-Forward (AF) and Decode-and-Forward (DF) relaying in massive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) networks. The system includes a Base Station equipped with a massive antenna array connected to a reduced number of RF chains, an intermediate dual-mode hybrid relay node, and multiple User Equipments. The system executes joint digital baseband matrix decomposition and analog phase-shifter precoding to minimize hardware complexity and power consumption. An adaptive relay control engine dynamically switches the relay between low-latency AF and noise-eliminating DF operational modes based on real-time channel quality metrics and delay constraints. An alternating minimization algorithm optimizes precoding matrices under constant-modulus phase constraints, while an adaptive power allocation engine maximizes overall system energy efficiency. The present invention significantly improves spectral efficiency, coverage area, and link reliability in mmWave and sub-THz wireless networks.
