Abstract: The increasing adoption of photovoltaic (PV) energy systems has created a demand for efficient high step-up DC–DC converters capable of converting low PV voltages into higher usable DC levels. This project presents the design and implementation of a high-gain DC–DC converter that boosts an input voltage of 12–16 V to a regulated output of 110 V at a power rating of 50 W. Unlike conventional boost converters, which require extreme duty cycles and experience high switching losses and voltage stress, the proposed converter employs enhanced voltage boosting techniques to achieve a high voltage conversion ratio with improved efficiency. The converter features a compact structure, low output ripple, and effective voltage regulation. Its performance is analyzed through theoretical studies, simulation, and hardware implementation. Experimental results confirm reliable operation and stable output under varying conditions. The proposed system offers high voltage gain, reduced losses, and improved reliability, making it suitable for PV systems, DC microgrids, and renewable energy applications.
