MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641033720 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology Tiruchirappalli on March 20, 2026, for Design And Implementation Of Audio Equalizer Using Active Filters And Op-Amp Circuits.

Inventors include Umayal R M; Priyadharshini O; and Dr. Vaishnavi K.

The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: The current patent describes an audio equalizer system which uses operational amplifier circuits with active filter technology to enable independent frequency band control that enhances audio performance. The active filter circuits of the invention provide superior sound control capabilities compared to passive equalization methods because users can adjust audio signal levels by raising or lowering their volume. The audio equalizer system uses operational amplifiers together with resistors and capacitors and adjustable control components to create a frequency shaping system that delivers clear audio signal output . The equalizer circuit receives an input audio signal that comes from microphones or music players or audio amplifiers according to existing system specifications. The audio signal contains multiple frequency components which affect audio quality because they produce different effects. The invention uses active filter circuits to process the combined audio signal which enables the separation of audio signals into different frequency ranges. The filter circuit enables users to control bass and midrange and treble sound frequencies according to the circuit's frequency range operation. The system uses a low-pass active filter to process low-frequency audio sound signals which enhances bass response and creates additional audio depth in the sound output.
