Abstract: ABSTRACT [0012] The issue of waste management has emerged as one of the serious problems faced by the urban populations with the increase in the number of residents and waste production. Traditional ways of garbage pickup are associated with such problems as overfilling of the bins, ineffective garbage pickup schedule, and high costs. The project "Design and Implementation of an IoT-Based Smart Dustbin with Cloud-Based Monitoring and Automated Alerts Using ESP32" offers an intelligent solution for effective monitoring of the dustbin filling level. The system will be based on the ESP32 microcontroller, the HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor for determining the dustbin fill level, and the DHT22 sensor for the measurement of the dustbin temperature and humidity level. The servo motor is used for the automatic opening and closing of the lid, whereas the green, yellow, and red LEDs will signal the filling level of the dustbin. When the dustbin is full, the buzzer will signal it. The data obtained from the sensors will be uploaded into the ThingSpeak cloud service through the Wi-Fi module.
