Abstract: The present invention relates to the design and fabrication of a portable solar dryer integrated with paraffin wax as a thermal energy storage medium to improve drying efficiency and ensure continuous operation. The system consists of a solar air collector, a drying chamber with multiple trays, and a phase change material unit containing paraffin wax. During peak sunlight hours, the paraffin wax absorbs and stores excess thermal energy, and subsequently releases it during periods of low or no solar radiation, thereby maintaining a stable drying temperature. The portable structure, combined with controlled airflow and proper ยท insulation, enables uniform drying while protecting the materials from contamination. This invention otTers a cost-effective, energy-efficient, and ecofriendly solution for drying agricultural products, reducing dependence on conventional energy sources and enhancing suitability for rural and remote applications.
