Abstract: Abstract For gas turbine engines to operate at their best and produce thrust, steady combustion and effective fuel air mixing are crucial. Injector design and flame holder configuration have a direct impact on mixing properties and flame stability, which affects the combustion chamber efficiency. In order to improve combustion efficiency, this CFD analysis used to optimise the fuel injection parameters and flame holder design. 3D model of the gas turbine combustion chamber, including compressor outlet, fuel injector, V-gutter flame holder and exhaust nozzle as developed to simulate turbulent non premixed combustion. The governing equations of mass, momentum and energy transport were solved using a realizable turbulence model. The results show that optimize injector configuration improve fuel air mixing, enhance temperature uniformity and reduce total pressure losses across the anchoring in the recirculation zone produced by the flame holder. The results show that flame holder design and fuel injector system optimisation greatly enhance combustion performance and overall gas turbine efficiency.
