The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.

Abstract: A laser engraving machine and method are disclosed for permanently marking or engraving metal tools, engineering parts, and industrial components. The system comprises a high-power laser source (diode/fiber/CCh), a computer-controlled CNC XY-axis motion system driven by stepper motors, a precision optical assembly including beam-steering mirrors and a focusing lens, an air-assist debrisremoval unit, a water or air cooling subsystem, and a software interface for design preparation and parameter optimization. The laser beam is directed onto the workpiece surface, converting electrical energy into localized thermal energy sufficient to vaporize or ablate surface material along predefined paths, thereby producing intricate, permanent, and wear-resistant markings. Process parameters including laser power, scanning speed, pulse frequency, and focal distance are optimized using Full Factorial Design (FFD) methodology to achieve controlled engraving depth, minimal heat-affected zone (HAZ), and high surface finish quality across diverse metallic substrates including steel, aluminium, titanium, and anodized aluminium. The invention offers non- contact processing, eliminating tool wear and mechanical deformation, and is suitable for industrial traceability marking, decorative engraving, medical instrument identification, and aerospace component labellin
