Abstract: The present invention relates to a magnetically guided automated mandibular foramen locator intended for improving the accuracy of inferior alveolar nerve block administration. The device comprises an extraoral positioning unit incorporating a calibrated anatomical scale, a Hall effect sensor, and a feedback mechanism, along with an intraoral autoclavable magnetic reference unit. The Hall effect sensor detects the magnetic field generated by the intraoral magnet and provides real-time auditory or visual confirmation when alignment corresponding to the mandibular foramen is achieved. The invention minimizes operator-dependent variability, improves reproducibility, reduces failed anesthesia rates, and enhances patient comfort. The system further serves as a portable chairside guidance device and educational training aid for dental practitioners and students.
