Abstract: In the modern era, the rapid adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) has introduced several challenges related to efficient and convenient charging infrastructure. Many users experience limitations such as long charging durations, limited battery capacity, and dependency on fixed charging stations. These issues often result in reduced driving range and inconvenience during travel. To address these challenges, the Design and Development of Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) for Electric Vehicles on Roadways is proposed as an innovative solution that enables contactless energy transfer between the road and the vehicle. The system aims to eliminate traditional plug- in charging methods and provide a seamless and continuous charging experience. The proposed system operates on the principle of electromagnetic induction, where transmitter coils embedded beneath the roadway generate an alternating magnetic field. Receiver coils installed in the electric vehicle capture this energy and convert it into electrical power to charge the battery. The system includes control circuits and sensors to regulate power flow, ensure alignment, and maintain safety during operation. It supports both static charging when vehicles are stationary and dynamic charging while vehicles are in motion, improving overall efficiency. Unlike conventional charging systems, this approach reduces charging time, minimizes the need for large batteries, and decreases dependency on charging stations. It enhances user convenience and supports uninterrupted travel. By improving energy utilization and promoting sustainable transportation, this system contributes to the development of smart cities. Overall, wireless power transfer technology offers a reliable, efficient, and user-friendly solution for future electric vehicle infrastructure.
