The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to a lightweight protective shin guard formed from a polyamide polymer composite reinforced with aluminum metallic particles or machining chips. Aluminum reinforcement is prepared and classified into predetermined particle-size ranges and mixed with dried polyamide by mechanical mixing and/or ball milling. The composite mixture is consolidated under controlled heat and pressure, followed by cooling under pressure and subsequent machining or forming into an anatomically curved protective shin-guard shell. The developed composite is intended to provide a suitable combination of lightweight construction, impact resistance, durability and structural performance. Mechanical, thermal and microstructural characterization may be performed to evaluate the composite, while finite-element analysis using LS-DYNA may be employed to determine impact-induced stress, strain and deformation. Experimental impact testing may further be used to validate the numerical analysis.
