The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The increasing incidence of finger swelling, trauma, and emergency situations has highlighted the need for a safe and efficient method to remove constricted finger rings without causing patient discomfort or tissue injury. This project focuses on the design and development of an automated finger-ring cutter equipped with a closed-loop pressure control mechanism to enhance safety, precision, and ease of use. The system integrates a pressure sensor, microcontroller-based control unit, and motorized cutting tool to maintain optimal cutting force while preventing excessive pressure on the finger. Safety features such as an automatic shut-off, temperature monitoring, and adjustable speed control further reduce the risk of overheating or accidental harm. Prototyping and testing demonstrate that the automated device offers improved accuracy, reduced manual effort, and enhanced patient safety compared to conventional manual ring cutters. The developed system provides a reliable and user-friendly solution for clinical, emergency, and rescue applications, contributing significantly to modern biomedical device innovation.
