MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641108131 A) filed by Pragati Engineering College on September 09, 2026, for Design And Development Of A Portable Emi/Emc Noise Analyzer For Electronic Circuit Diagnostics.
Inventors include Dr. Y Jayababu; Dr. Chandra Sekhar Koppireddy; Mr. G. Vijaya Kumar; and Ms. Harini Allampalli.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), and electronic circuit diagnostics, and more particularly to a Portable EMI/EMC Noise Analyzer for Electronic Circuit Diagnostics. The invention provides a compact, portable, and cost-effective solution for detecting and analyzing electromagnetic interference generated by electronic circuits in real time, overcoming the limitations of conventional laboratory-based EMI testing equipment. The proposed analyzer comprises a near-field EMI sensing probe, an RF signal conditioning circuit, an Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC), an embedded microcontroller, a display unit, a wireless communication module, and a rechargeable battery. The detected electromagnetic signals are amplified, filtered, converted into digital form, and processed using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) to determine the frequency spectrum and EMI level. The analyzer identifies the source of interference, classifies the EMI type, and locates EMI hotspot regions on the electronic circuit. The measured results are displayed in real time and can be transmitted wirelessly for remote monitoring and report generation. The analyzer also recommends suitable EMI reduction techniques, including grounding, shielding, filtering, and PCB layout optimization to improve electromagnetic compatibility. The proposed Portable EMI/EMC Noise Analyzer provides a portable, intelligent, and economical alternative to conventional EMI testing systems by reducing testing time, improving diagnostic accuracy, and simplifying electronic circuit troubleshooting. The invention is applicable in electronics manufacturing, PCB testing, industrial automation, automotive electronics, communication systems, medical devices, and research laboratories, providing an effective solution for real-time EMI/EMC analysis and electronic circuit diagnostics.
