Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION HOT BASED SMART HYDRAULIC WORK BENCH SYSTEM USING PLC AND HMI The lloT-Based Smart Hydraulic Workbench System integrates Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human-Machine Interfaces (1-IMI); and Industrial lnteruet of Things (lloT) technology to automate the measurement of hydraulic piston stroke length and pressure. This system ensures precision, efficiency, and real-time monitoring, making it an ideal solution for industrial applications requiring automated hydraulic measurements and diagnostics. The proposed system employs a Delta AS Series PLC and a Delta DOP Series HMI for control and visualization. The hydraulic piston stroke length is measured using linear position sensors, while pressure sensors continuously monitor hydraulic pressure. The system incorporates an auto clamping mechanism, ensuring accurate and repeatable measurements. The PLC automates the process, controlling the clamping, measurement, and data acquisition. The HMI provides a userfriendfy interlace, allowing operators to start, stop, and monitor operations in real-time. Additionally, the system includes three switches: a start button, a stop button, and an emergency stop button for safety. Once the system is activated, the hydraulic piston is automatically clamped, and the stroke length measurement begins. The pressure sensor continuously records the pressme levels, ensuring system stability. The measured data is displayed on the I-IMI, providing operators with real-time insights into the piston's performance. A tower lamp-based indication system enhances the error detection mechanism. If an error or deviation is detected in the stroke length or pressure measurement, the tower lamp turns red and blinks, alerting operators of potential issues. This feature ensures quick identification and rectification of faults, improving operational safety and reliability. The system utilizes Node- RED, an open-source lioT platform, to enable remote monitoring and data logging. The measured values of piston stroke length and pressure are transmitted to a centralized server or cloud-based system, allowing for real-time data visualization, predictive maintenance, and long-term analysis. By integrating lloT connectivity, this system facilitates remote access atid control, enabling supervisors to monitor system performance from anywhere. The data-driven approach helps in preventive maintenance, reducing unexpected failures and downtime. The system is programmed using WPL Soft for Delta PLCs and DOP Soft for HMI development. These software tools enable efficient ladder logic programming and l-IM I customization, ensuring seamless .communication between system components. The PLC communicates with the sensors and actuators, processes the acquired data, and sends real-time information to the HMI. Additionally, the lloT integration provides connectivity between the industrial process and cloud-based applications, enhancing data accessibility and operational intelligence.
