Abstract: Emergency communication is a critical challenge in remote and disaster-prone areas where cellular network connectivity is unavailable or unreliable. This project proposes a low-cost and portable emergency communication system designed to provide reliable connectivity in such environments. The system utilizes LoRa (Long Range) wireless technology to enable long-distance communication between a user device and a gateway, ensuring message transmission even in areas without traditional network infrastructure. A GPS module is integrated into the system to capture real-time geographical coordinates during emergency situations. When the SOS button is activated, the device transmits an alert message along with the user’s location data through the LoRa communication link. The receiver gateway processes the received information and forwards it to the internet using Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing the alert to be accessed remotely. This ensures that emergency information can reach authorities, rescue teams, or monitoring systems even when the sender is located in isolated regions. The received location data is then visualized on a digital map interface, enabling quick identification of the user’s exact position and facilitating faster emergency response. The proposed system is designed to be energy-efficient, cost-effective, and portable, making it suitable for applications in forests, mountainous regions, rural areas, and disaster-affected zones. By providing a reliable communication alternative where conventional networks fail, the system enhances safety and improves the chances of timely rescue and assistance.
