Abstract: ABSTRACT A dental attachment placement instrument (100) for retaining, positioning, and releasing a dental attachment relative to a tooth surface comprises a handle portion (110) having first and second resilient arm members (101, 102) continuous with each other to define a spring-return zone (180), a force-transfer region (115), an angulated bend or offset (125), elongated working segment portions (131, 132), and a working end (140) having first and second tip members (150, 160). Compressive force applied to the handle portion (110) is converted at the force-transfer region (115) into transverse separation of the tip members, while elastic recovery returns them toward a closed retaining configuration. The tip members engage opposite lateral side regions of the dental attachment and separate transversely in a mesio-distal direction, permitting reduced-disturbance disengagement. The elongated working segment portions (131, 132) may be provided in curved configurations (191, 192) following a dental arch contour. The figure associated with abstract is Fig. 1A.
