The application for the patent was published on September 18, 2026, under issue no. 38/2026.

Abstract: A density based traffic control system that estimates traffic congestion using vehicle-generated noise. Noise sensors (12a-12d) positioned at each approach road of an intersection (10) continuously monitor noise intensity, which is acquired, measured and analysed by a processing unit (14) to estimate traffic density on each lane. A controller (16) dynamically allocates traffic signal timing to each road (18a-18d) based on the estimated density, thereby improving traffic flow and reducing waiting time, without requiring cameras or image processing.
