MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511006584 A) filed by Council Of Scientific And Industrial Research on January 27, 2025, for Dehydrogenation Of Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carrier (lohc) At Ambient Conditions, And Their Use Thereof.
Inventors include Pradip Maity; Sabir Ali Molla; Amit Sasmal; and Soumyanetra Pramanik.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to hydrogen transport via liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs). Specifically, the present disclosure relates to a process of dehydrogenation of LOHCs using combination of specific photocatalyst and co-catalyst at ambient conditions. In view of this process, the dehydrogenation of LOHC is possible at temperature as low as 25-30 ?, which makes the process scalable, preferable and commercially viable.
