Abstract: The present invention relates to a deformation-compensated spatial wound monitoring and adaptive diagnostic system integrated with Negative Pressure Wound Therapy (NPWT), configured for continuous, spatially consistent assessment of a wound during treatment. The system comprises a flexible sensorized wound dressing having a plurality of spatially distributed sensing elements and deformation reference elements, NPWT assembly, a spatial registration and deformation compensation module, a localized exudate sampling mechanism, and a processing and diagnostic unit. The spatial registration module establishes a persistent wound coordinate reference during initial dressing application and maps subsequent sensor measurements to corresponding wound regions despite dressing deformation, patient movement, and dressing replacement. The deformation compensation module distinguishes measurement variations attributable to physical deformation from physiological changes in the wound. Upon identification of a persistent or progressive abnormality at a specific wound coordinate, a selectively actuated sampling mechanism corresponding to the affected region is activated to obtain localized wound exudate using a pressure differential generated by the NPWT assembly. The localized exudate is directed to a replaceable analytical cartridge for performing selected chemical or biochemical measurements, and the resulting analytical data are spatially associated with the corresponding wound coordinate. The processing and diagnostic unit integrates the spatially registered sensor measurements with the localized exudate analysis to determine wound status and adapt subsequent sensing and sampling operations according to the detected wound condition. The invention thereby enables deformation-compensated, coordinate-specific wound assessment and targeted biochemical interrogation while reducing unnecessary sampling and improving continuous monitoring of wound progression during NPWT.
