Abstract: Load balancing operations between network devices to perform DPI operations are provided herein. Network devices of a virtualized network device arrangement may load balance network traffic by employing a network link between the network devices to exchange data packets for DPI operations. Further, the network devices may employ dedicated CPUs to offload DPI operations. In this manner, the current techniques may enable preservation of pre-existing networking routing or deterministic routing to be performed on-the-fly by enabling DPI to be performed without constraining network traffic flows to a specified route.
