Abstract: The present invention relates to a deep learning-based system and method for early detection and diagnosis of lung cancer using medical images. The system comprises a medical image acquisition module, preprocessing module, lung-region extraction module, lesion detection module, deep feature extraction module, classification module, and optionally confidence estimation and explainability modules. Medical images are received and subjected to preprocessing to obtain a standardized representation. Lung regions and suspicious pulmonary regions are identified, followed by extraction of discriminative deep features using a trained deep learning model. The extracted features are classified into predefined diagnostic categories including normal, benign, suspicious, or malignant conditions. The system may generate a confidence score and an explanatory heat map indicating regions contributing to the prediction. The generated diagnostic output is displayed or stored for computer-aided assessment by an authorized healthcare professional. The invention provides an automated and efficient approach for early lung cancer screening and diagnosis using medical image analysis.
