The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: A decentralized peer-negotiated multi-zone heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control system (100) is disclosed. The system (100) comprises a shared cooling plant (102) configured to supply conditioned air to a plurality of thermal zones through a duct network (126), a plurality of zone control modules (104) respectively associated with the thermal zones, and a supervisory node (120). Each zone control module (104) includes one or more environmental sensors (202), a processor (204), a memory (206), a communication interface (218), and a damper actuator (220). The processor (204) is configured to determine a current thermal condition, generate a predicted thermal condition, determine a cooling demand, negotiate cooling capacity with neighbouring zone control modules (104), determine a negotiated cooling allocation, and regulate airflow accordingly. Operational information is transmitted to the supervisory node (120) through a supervisory communication network (124) independent of the peer communication network (122), enabling decentralized cooling allocation and continued operation during supervisory communication interruption.
