Abstract: The present invention relates to a debris-optimized propeller guard with ring and spoke micro-vanes system designed to prevent foreign-object debris (FOD) ingestion during liftoff and hover. The assembly incorporates a shroud with a rounded inlet lip, a circumferential band of fixed inner micro-vanes formed along the inner surface of the shroud, and short vane arrays mounted on selected spokes supporting a central hub and propeller. The inner micro-vanes are angled to impart a tangential component to incoming airflow, creating a circumferential bias that sweeps entrained particles along the shroud wall rather than into the rotor plane. In debris-prone quadrants, particularly those facing downward during ground effect, spoke-mounted vanes provide localized deflection to reinforce debris shedding. The vane count, azimuth, and clearance are configured to minimize rotor–stator tonal coupling while preserving thrust efficiency. These vane features may be integrated directly into the shroud during molding or provided as modular inserts, enabling retrofit installation on existing UAV guards.
